Hey my name is David Bellamy but you can call me Dave. I have been involved with St. John's Lutheran Church since 1999. I have been the Youth Director since June of 2002 and I even attended the youth group with my wife, then girlfriend, when we were in high school (weird huh).
I married my high school sweet heart, Nancy, 6 yrs ago and we don't have any kids yet but I figure that between the students in the student ministry and her being the Preschool Director at the church preschool, we have enough kids to worry about right now.
We love working with the middle and high school students, taking them on trips or just hanging out with them. So if you are ever around I would love to talk with you and get to know you. My contact information can . . . well you guessed it, is on the "contact" page of this fine website. See ya soon!
That's a great question. We have a very good process that we use to keep the kids safe. Each adult leader that would like to help out goes through a application process so we can get to know them. Once that takes place we do a background check on them. This is done to ensure that our kids are protected as well as taken care of in the best way possible.
I am in my office pretty much everyday till late afternoon, except on the weekends. Despite the occasional meeting every now and then, I am hear to talk if you need to, we can even do lunch. I am very approachable so if you ever need to meet with me just give me a call or email me.
There is this one small, bothersome thing about the Great Commission… it applies to everyone. And as uncomfortable or just plain frightening as evangelism might be for students, it’s still our calling as followers of Christ. Thankfully, we have an incredible model of godly, bible-focused evangelism—the apostle Paul. Week One - Get Into Shape - Acts 9
Over five weeks, we’ll explore the principles and strategies that make up the heart of Paul’s evangelistic ministry and see how it applies to our life.
Week Two - Find Your Drive - 2 Corinthinas 5:13 - 6:2
Week Three - Plan The Work, Work The Plan - Acts 17
Week Four - Be A Trustworthy Person - 1 Thessalonians 2
Week Five - Fight To The Finish - 2 Corinthians 11 & 12
