PURPOSE STATEMENT
Our Student Ministry exists to
ILLUSTRATE God's love to students,
help them INITIATE a genuine relationship with
Jesus Christ and other believers,
help them IDENTIFY God's purpose for their lives,
INVOLVE them in the work of the ministry
and IDOLIZE God with their life.
PLANNED VALUES
Values are an important part to any event because they identify the beliefs and styles that will help support the purpose. Below is are values spelled out through C.H.R.I.S.T. that is followed by the adult leaders and the students.
Care - Keep ministry healthy by having relational investments, keeping up on students and friends who have missed a couple of weeks and showing them you care. Show them that you have an interest in their life.
Home - Create a safe atmosphere for others around you that is welcoming and inviting. Create a balanced atmosphere of learning and laughter of God's Word, meaning have fun with it's fun time and take it down a notch when it's time to listen.
Respect - Praise good questions, thoughts, ideas; nothing is "dumb" or "stupid". Accept students for who they are and where they are at. Listen more than talking and being courteous to leaders, parents and students.
Invite - Promote other students and friends to join the student ministry always
thinking to challenge them to move in a closer walk with God.
Share - Be transparent, don't be a fake or "cool". Admit mistakes, share concerns
and experiences (with in reason) with students and leaders if and when situation arises. Over all: Be yourself!
Time - Share life with students, leaders, friends, etc and create a healthy relationship with them by going places with them, calling or writing to them. This will take some time and commitment and the pay off is great.
PLANNED VISION
Our vision is to ultimately move students from a life without Christ to
having a life with Him and move them to having a spiritual walk on
their own and not be dependent on programs or people.
